Chestnut Park, recently renamed John F. Collins Park, to honor the pocket park’s designer, was designed in the 1970’s as a serene pocket park amid the hardscape of Center City on the 1700 block of Chestnut Street.  The refurbishments included new hardscaping/pavement landscaping, ornamental fencing and gates, water features, lighting, public seating, and additional site amenities. The park is transparent and inviting thanks to the new gates and improved lighting.
